So I am thinking about creating a blog/portfolio website. I am leaning towards setting aside the stamp business for now. I am thinking about trying to license my artwork and work as a freelancer. I think I have enough sketches, stamp designs and ideas from starting 2 Cute Rubber Stamps to venture on into a new path.
My first assignment/portfolio piece I am thinking about doing is designing my own wedding invitations. Should I use Heidi Schwoerer Illustrations or 2 Cute Illustrations? I am excited to start this new adventure in Jan 2011! I would love to hear your thoughts, and stay tuned I will posting a new blog to follow! Plus creating a new Facebook Fan Page!

I can't believe I got engaged! Here is a picture of the diamond ring brandon got me! It was so sweet he got all dressed up and bent down on one knee! I on the other hand just got out of the shower had a towel on and no make up! I was so surprised! Such a great christmas present, I love him so much!
Finished up my Christmas Shopping yesterday! Now I just need to wrap gifts and put them under the tree! While I was shopping I came across this neat book called
"365 Make Something Everyday Day and Change Your Life". I thought what a great idea and it is something that I would like to try. There is also a place online where you can upload what you do I believe. This might just be a fun thing to try in this new year. Has anyone heard of this book? So I have been doing a lot of thinking about my goals and future and I know I want to make a career out of illustrating. I keep going back and forth should I just freelance?, Should I just continue with 2 Cute Rubber Stamps or put it on hold? Should I try and see if I can just create rubber stamp designs for a single company? Should I make a new portfolio and submit it to companies? My ultimate goal is to be able to make an income being able to create, illustrate and design! I don't have the income to keep 2 Cute Rubber Stamps going for I can't make my designs into stamps. I am just not going anywhere and I feel like I need to focus on my artwork, maybe not the entire business?
Plus I need a structure, a plan, I think I just need some help! Does anyone have have any ideas or suggestions? Where do I start? What is the next step? I hope I can figure this all out in the next 2 weeks. For now I am going to So I came across this super cute craft tutorial on Tamara Thomas's blog on making cute felt valentine cards! I thought you could take some 2 Cute Digital stamps and do the same thing, or use them for inspiration! Another crafty blogger Inka got inspired and made those cute monsters into felt plush, check out the picture below! I love both ideas it just makes me want to try and make some!
1. This week I plan to start inking some of the stamp sketches that you have voted on in the Rate My Sketches Page.
2. I also am going to start pulling ideas from the Your Stamp Ideas page and start sketching new designs including Valentine's day images! 3. In the new year I hope to work a little more in advance so I can have the digital images and stamps out before some of the holidays hits! Right now it may only be the digital images 1 month before the holiday until I create enough revenue to make them into stamps! 4. So I am aiming at releasing 4 Valentine Digital Stamps to my DT by January 14th so they can create works of art and then release for sale by January 2oth. *Here is to an Awesome New Year filled with cute New Stamp Designs!* I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday and share this cute christmas treat bag DT member Cali made using the Cupcake Kitty Digital Stamp! Hope everyone is getting all there holiday shopping done, I know I still need to go and purchase a few things!
So I started out by attempting to quill my Freebie mini cupcake digital stamp, but since I am new to quilling I figured I would start small and just make a regular little old cupcake! so here is my mini cupcake digital stamp inspired quilled cupcake! I put some modge podge on the back to keep it sturdy, and thought about making it into a cupcake pendant and wearing it as a necklace. I am not sure if it would hold up, I did think of modge podging the front but it takes away from the detail of the paper. Has anyone tried making quilled jewelry? I really did want to try and make some quilled ornaments...hmmm, maybe I can think of something good!
I found this great craft idea this morning on clearly rubber stamping! It uses simple supplies that everyone has around the house, toilet paper, water and rubber stamps. It is paper casting with rubber stamps to use for cards, but I thought it would be cool to make ornaments or even magnets using 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. I am not sure if it would work but I think it is worth a try.
So I was excited to see in my email I received a $50.00 free facebook credits to use for ads on my 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Facebook fan page! I have wanted to advertise again on facebook so it works out great! My first ad I ran on facebook was also with free credits that I got from a book I bought called "facebook for dummbies", there was a code in there that gave me a free 50 dollar credit too! So if you want to advertise on facebook and don't have the extra money look for that book ! I believe by advertising the first time I got about 100 more fans! :)
