So I got inspired to make this pendant because today I went to walmart and bought a few flower pots and a package of seeds to grow sunflowers! I thought they looked so pretty on the little packet especially because the colors of the flowers were yellow, reds and oranges! So I thought lets make a smiley sunflower and I will use the face of the Cowboy Kid Rubber Stamp, the face looked like it did smear a little bit, probably cause I should have waited to gloss it, but I couldn't resist!

So I finished glossing this pendant today and I think it came out great! This is on a bigger wood square so I was able to fit more of the image on it. You can really see the sparkle at this angle.
So I am 1 sale away from 50 sales on Etsy! I am so excited, so I have decided the next person who makes a purchase on Etsy making 50 sales will get a FREE stamp of their choice! Just put in the comments which FREE stamp you would like!
Happy Stamping! Oh I just finished 2 more 2 Cute Pendants! can't wait to post and share I love making them! I think I am going to be making pendants for my mom, sister, grandma and my boyfriend's mom and grandma for mother's day! :) So I was thinking of a fun way to use 2 Cute Rubber Stamps and I came up with creating pendants. I had some wooden squares I had from a previous project so I thought why not stamp and paint them. I ran into a few problems:
1.When I painted the wood and then stamped on top and then added a layer of gloss the "ink" smeared. 2. I tried first stamping on the wood then let dry, then painted with some translucent glass paint but that semi smeared the ink and then once again smeared when I put the gloss on top 3. So then I bought a different ink pad, but I bought the wrong one I need to buy the starz on brand because that won't smear. So after all the different testings I ended up just stamping with my original ink pad and using colored pencils to color the image instead of paint. I used crayola on the turtle pendant and I used prisma colors on the owl. I let the turtle ink dry over night and then I glossed where I just stamped the owl and let it dry for like and hour and then glossed. The owl seemed to bleed just a little when I glossed where the turtle seemed to be ok. I did also put some pearl x powder ontop to give it some sparkle but it didn't show up as much as I wanted though you can see it better if you look really close. I did find out I need to mix the pearl x powder with a certain medium so it will sparkle better. I am going to buy the starz on ink pad soon and do a test with that. I really like how these came out and can't wait to put bails on them and string and wear! Who knows I may start a 2 Cute Jewelry line. I also have some other ideas where I continue to crop the stamps in a unique way and also maybe even doing some hand drawn one of a kind pendants, perhaps even some abstract ones too!!! So the past few days I have been searching for some consignment shops here in Southern IL, though most of the shops in Marion are clothing consignment shops. I did find a place in Murphysboro that I need to call tomorrow and find out what types of things they sell and see if my stamps would fit in. I also remembered Long Grove up where I use to live has little boutique and consignment shops, but after reading through the shops online, I didn't come across a place where I could sell my stamps. So right now I am stumped and not sure where else I can get my stamps seen!
Here is a sketch I came up with right around the time I came up with Cat-Knit. I really liked the cat so I decided to make the cat by the Eiffel Tower, at the time my co-worker loved France and Paris so she inspired me to create this design. I was thinking I may do a series with this cute cat. Let me know what you think of this sketch on the Rate My Sketches Page.
So I have this great idea to try out with all my stamps but I am using ink that smears when you paint over top of it! So I found this great article online that tells about all the different types of ink pads and what they are best for and so on. I loved it so much I thought I would share it with everyone! I was just doing something thinking this morning before I woke up and I came up with a couple of questions to post for the week! So Today I am asking where does everyone purchase the majority of there rubber stamps from? Actual Store, Online- Etsy, Websites, Ebay, through Catalogs, Craft Shows. Maybe a bit of both?
