I colored up my starfish sketch from yesterday and I love how she turned out! My favorite part was putting in the white lines and circles giving it a bit of a texture.
Add your Sketch to the Photo Layer in Adobe Ideas by clicking on the Photo Layer and importing a photo from your Photo Library Step 1: Begin by creating a New Layer above your Photo Layer. Start inking the eye lash with the Pencil Tool, pick black as your color. The eye is inked with a 2.5 pencil size and the dots are a size 8.5. ( zoom in to ink and color like below) I always zoom in on what ever part I am going to ink or color! It makes it easy trace. Step 2: Create a New Layer above the eye inking layer and pick a color you want to color your image. Remember to Click your New Layer and bring your opacity down to 20% by sliding the bar to the left. This allows you to see the sketch image as you start to create colored shapes. Step 3: Remember to always check your progress as you go by hiding your sketch layer and put all your opacity's at 100%. ( To hide a layer just uncheck the box next to each layer) Step 4: Next create New Layers to add details, like texture in the fins, flower, highlight for the eye and flower. Remember to bring the opacity down with the new layers so you can see where you should be coloring. ( You get up to 10 layers in Adobe Ideas). Step 5:
Here is your finished piece! :) You can email your illustration, save to photos and much more by clicking the arrow in a box button on the top right of your screen! I had a fun time coloring this seahorse yesterday! I had fun creating all the pointy shapes and adding detail! I was also able to create a short tutorial on how I colored this design in Adobe Ideas that I am going to post in the next blog post!
I think so far this is one of my favorite illustrations! I had the idea of making the flower this time more of a head band. I also like the contrast of the green and the purple flower too. What do you think?
So I am on a roll with coloring these new images! I seem to create new techniques as I go since I am just starting this coloring without lines adventure. This design looks a bit different from the sketch but I think it turned out cute! I really love how the tentacles on the octopus turned out! Let me know what you think!
Here is a sketch of a peaceful octopus that I designed for my sea creature/animals series for embroidery! I love using instagram for taking pictures of my sketches!
I am excited to share another colored illustration today and happy to be creating art! I really like how the fins came out, I was just going to leave them a solid orange but then decided to create think white lines to create a nice texture. What do you think?
Here is a fish doodle I did a while back! I based some of her features off of a angel fish! We have angel fish and discus fish at home and I really enjoy having them! I also gave this fish more "doodles" than the crab and jellyfish! Next I will be giving this fishy some color!
