Craft Idea: Rubber Stamped Bookmarks

So I have been reading some of the new books I bought and was searching for a book mark to hold my spot and I thought, why not create some 2 cute rubber stamped book marks!  I did a quick sketch of how the book mark could look, but not sure on how I want to make it yet!  I just found this cute little tutorial on kandy's keepsakes blog on making bookmarks with jumbo paper clips!  They are super cute and I bet with a little rubber stamping they can look even cuter!  I was thinking to maybe put some laminate paper on top when I finish to make it more sturdy and keep it looking nice!  Has anyone made any rubber stamped book marks?, I would love to see them!

Custom Rubber Stamp Idea

8/15/2010

So I  have been asked a few times if I do custom stamps.  Someone asked if I could put their name or business name,  a cute image and the words "Thank You" on a stamp.  Also even to  put handmade with love with there name and  a cute little graphic.  So I have been doing some thinking this morning and what if I offered a few different templates where you can customize the words, and put your favorite 2 Cute image!    I could see the Cat-Knit image with Hand knitted with love by Heidi, maybe a couple small hearts?  Or maybe the turtle sundae image with the words "thank you"  and then your name, business name or email?
Let's see you can write what ever you wanted but here are some templates I could have
1. Handmade with love by (with 2 cute image)
      a. Handmade by
2. Knitted with love by (with 2 cute image)
      a. Crocheted with love by
3. Baked with love by (with 2 cute image)
4. Planted with love by (with 2 cute image)
5.  Just your name, child's name etc (with 2 cute image)
6. Address stamps (with 2 cute image)
     a. just Your name or your Family name
7. 2 cute image with "Thank You", name and phone number?

That is what I have thought of so far!

Here are the estimate prices:
1.  They would be wood mounted and can very in size
   a. 1 x 1 -$10.00 plus shipping
   b. 1.5 x 1 - $16.00 plus shipping
   c.  1.5 x 1.5  -$20.00 plus shipping
   d.  2 x 2 - 25.00 plus shipping (Maybe able to offer Free Shipping on 2x2?)

I believe from the time you place an order then I design the stamp put correct info
and then I would like to send your a jpeg email for approval, spelling?
About a week and a half to 2 week turn around.

Just an idea, since I was asked earlier this week I thought I would look into the prices and such.  Please let me know what you think of Custom stamps or if you have any other Ideas!

Craft Idea: Making Stencils Using Digital Stamps

So I had this idea to make stencils from digital stamps!  I bought some plain stencil paper and I was thinking it would be cool to enlarge my Cowboy Kid digital stamp and cut out the shapes to make it a stencil.  I was thinking to use the stencil on a sugar cookie or shortbread cookie, spray it with watered down food coloring so it will transfer onto the cookie!  Decorate it with frosting using pipeing bags and create an adorable Cowboy Kid Cookie!   You could use the stencils for all sorts of projects even to stencil on your walls!

Today I am releasing Butterfly Bear as a digital stamp!  I am really enjoying inking on my Ipad, and I think with more practice I will get better and better! (It is taking me a little bit longer but I am liking the results).  I added a little more line variation to this cute little bear and I think it makes her pop!  Butterfly Bear is now for sale in my Digi Shop and Etsy Shop!

Craft Idea: 2 Cute Rubber Stamped Purse Pins

8/2/2010

So I have had this idea for a while now, I believe I wrote this down in my first Idea Book.
I thought it would be cool to have purse pins!  Either to decorate your purse strap or put on the front and back of your purse!   When I made my rubber stamped shrinky dink jewelry and also my stamped wood pendants I made note that those would also be perfect for purse pins!  I found this great picture online of different types of pin backings you can use!  I can't wait to try this out and decorate my purse!  I think my first purse pin will be of  Turtle Sundae, one of my favorite 2 Cute Rubber Stamps :).  I think I will try and make it from 4 square wood pieces and then make a shrinky dink one? hmm that could be cool!  Does anyone have an idea of what else you can make rubber stamped pins out of?

So I had this cute idea to draw 2 cute monster characters dancing!  Then I remembered that song "Monster Mash" and I thought they could be dancing to that song! I sketched a few music notes that didn't show up that well but I think that would help tell the story that they are dancing?  Let me know what you think of this sketch on the Rate My Sketches page!

I haven't posted a new sketch in a few weeks!  So I made myself sit down today and came up with a cute sketch!  I was thinking to make a halloween inspired design and had a bit of trouble coming up with something I liked.  After re-working and erasing I got inspired and came up with the title "Monster Mash".  I really like how this one came out and can't wait to scan it in! :)  Going to get back on track with my "Sketch Friday" Posts this week.
