At first I wasn't very excited to see a package in the mail, for I thought it was something Brandon had ordered! lol  I gave the package to him without looking who's name was on it, and he said that it was for me!  Then I remembered that Denise had said she sent me samples of our January Release stamp sets!
So I was very excited to see the stamps sets in person and even though I can't share with you what they look like I snapped a picture of the very top of the package lol.  These 3 stamps sets will be released through Whimsy Stamps next wednesday January 23rd! :)

This year one of my main goals is to REALLY get into licensing my art.  I feel like I have only just begun by licensing my line art and I want to take it to the next level.  I have contacted an art agent hoping for some feedback and a push in the right direction.  I will be talking with them early next week for advice and ideas on what I need to work on.  I have to admit I do have a hard time focusing but I REALLY want to get my art out there.  I also have some great emails from when I took an online class that I want to go back and look at again. (I am actually going to start that today) I know I can do it I just need to focus! :)

I started to put together a portfolio page today.  I just grabbed a few of my current sketches along with my colored snowman couple and made a small gallery.  I will be adding a few older images but My goal is to fill this page every week with new sketches, colored art and line art!

I continued with sketching another chihuahua and this time gave him a cute bone in his mouth and made him sitting in his dog bowl. I think this is my favorite sketch so far from the last couple days. Let me know what you think!

Alright!  So far I have posted 2 sketches and I am following my sketch a day plan. yay! doing well so far lol even though I know it is only the second day!  I also entered a submission to illustration friday and with that I have decided I need to take a look at others entries and share some love and post comments!  I also think it will be a great way to get inspired and maybe try some new things with my own art!    The cute pup sketches that I have been drawing lately actually are a tad different from all my other sketches.  I usually draw small little eyes but in order for me to show the big cute eyes of a chihuahua I needed to draw the eyes larger.  I have been inspired today and I think I am going to draw 2 pups in the bath tube, for I had to give my doggies a potential flea bath because they have been itching and scratching! (those are always fun with a 65 lb german shepherd and a 6 lb chihuahua) lol

So yesterday I decided to take a 2 cute ink fan's idea and sketch it out!  They suggested a cute pup in a basket with balloons!  As I started drawing I immediately found myself drawing a little blanket and then decided to make his pupils a bit bigger to make him look like a young chihuahua pup.  This cute little puppy fits with this week's illustration friday topic of "New"  for he is a brand new puppy possibly for a birthday present? lol

So one of my goals this year is to draw different breeds of dogs!  I have a chihuahua named Cosmo (Cosie) so I wanted to draw him first.  I gave this doggie a little sweater with a heart and a leash in his mouth because Cosie loves going outside.  I have tried to dress up Cosie but he hates it, he runs around the house rubbing on everything trying to get the clothing off!  I think it would be fun to draw a few more of this chi chi doggie doing different things.  What do you think?

So on my little break I have been thinking and thinking and doing more thinking on what all I wanted to do in 2013!  I always seem to always want to do more than what I can handle but I believe I have narrowed it down to 10 items!
10 things to do this year
1.   have fun with creating digital stamps! (work on my seo and driving traffic to my digi shop)
     (take down my etsy shop)  right now there is no reason to pay for 2 shops)
2.  have fun batching up my favorite digital stamps and submit for licensing with whimsy stamps
3.  have fun submitting all digitals stamp designs to hang to dry appliqué 
4.  have fun and open a zazzle shop
5.  have fun and write a couple ebooks on digital stamps, inking in adobe ideas and a how to draw book
6.  have fun keeping up with blogging and social networks sites on a daily basis
7.  have fun an create a small art license portfolio to submit to agents
8.  have fun and participate in some of illustration friday topics
9.  have fun and sketching
10.  have fun and inking
10a. have fun and do some crafting/try something new

**The next step to do is break down each of the above and work on exactly how I will do this!
