I wanted to share with you my lovely pets that inspire me when creating my rubber stamp designs! First is Bear, who is our 7 month old German Shepherd, Second is Cosmo our 2 year old Toy Chihuahua and Lastly our short haired cat Comet also know as "kitty"! I enjoy having all these animals though at times it does get a little hectic! I would love to hear what kinda of pets everyone has!

So I have decided with the launch of my new website next week sometime I am also going to try to be consistent with my sketches and have a sketch Friday! So today is the first day of Sketch Friday. My sketching everyday hasn't worked that well so I think a sketch a week should be good!
I was going to draw a birthday theme design since it is my b-day today but as I was sketching I had a better idea! I ended up drawing a little chihuahua with his leash in his mouth based off my little pup Cosmo. Let me know what you think of this pup on my Rate My Sketches page Let's see I believe this computer is about 3 years old now. I have always wanted a Tablet PC but they were super expensive. Long story short, my old laptop crashed at the time so I needed a new one and that is when I got this HP. I bought it at Circuit City and it was not a bad price at the time. It took a little getting use to at first but after some practice I got the hang of inking. I have tried sketching on it here and there but I like sketching on paper better for now. I did try and color a drawing with Corel Painter but I just didn't get the hang of that either.
Before I got this HP I use to ink everything by hand which I did enjoy, oh and my favorite pen to use was the black zig pen! I really like inking on the computer because you have room to make mistakes and also in Flash everything is vector so you get nice crispy lines all the time! One thing I would like to see is HP come out with is just the tablet part, where you can still put programs on it and such but it would be light, thin and very portable! Kinda like the looks of the Ipad but with a drive, some usb ports and an awesome stylus! Actually I wish the Ipad was just like that lol! I know Wacom has a tablet like what I want but it is like $2,000! Yikes! Maybe if I make a small fortune with my stamps I will purchase one, but until then I will stick with my HP and continue to create cute art! So yesterday I was thinking it would be nice if I had some colored stamp images on my new website. I chose to color my Thank You Cat image. Since I haven't done too much digital coloring, I thought I would practice.
I used Photoshop and a few layers with the soft paint brush. The thing I struggle with is getting the right color, plus on each computer screen it looks a bit different. I used my HP tablet pc and colored right on the screen. Coloring my stamp images different ways is something I want to work on so I need to fit that into my new weekly schedule!. Tomorrow I am going to take a picture of my tablet pc to show you exactly what I use! If anyone has any digital coloring tips feel free to share! |
