I am excited to share my girl gnome sketch today. Yesterday I decided that I really really need to start drawing your great ideas. So I asked on my 2 Cute Ink Facebook page what should I sketch. The first response was a gnome and then I asked girl or boy? So a girl gnome is what the final idea was! So I started to sketch a "big" nose (which you can still see since it didn't erase well) lol but then switched to a cute button nose. I then thought it would be cute to add braids and a heart pattern on her dress/apron. I also gave her some little pointy elf looking shoes too. I really had fun sketching this design and think a series of gnomes would be cute to draw.
I have decided I am going to try and do a "sketch" session everyday! My goal is to do this right away in the morning.. Not only am I creating art for digital stamps but also sending sketches and inked images to appliqué and embroidery companies. I am going to be experimenting with different drawing styles and hope to get more human characters drawn too! So I am always needing to come up with new and fresh drawings all the time. So today I came up with this cute little girl fox. :)
So I was inspired to draw a girl character last night. I wanted to incorporate a little of myself into the character so I gave her really long hair and holding a starbucks carmel frap lol. ( I don't drink coffee much but when I do, I always get the carmel frap). I tried to give her glasses like mine but it just did not work! I shy away from drawing human characters but I really want to try and break out of my shell. I am finding I really like sketching in adobe ideas and then add color on top of the image right away. I just love seeing how the color brings life to the character!
So I had a little sketch session this morning and came up with this cute doggie golfer. I was trying to think of different sports and golfing popped into my head. My dad likes to golf and I went with him once to a golfing range and I could not hit one ball lol. I kept swinging and missing. I thought a nice plaid shirt and hat added fun pattern. One thing I want to incorporate to my drawings this year is patterns, I think more detail makes the characters come alive. Even though this little pup may not make the cut for a digital stamp I think it would be cute on a kids shirt, don't you? Hoping to start my art journal soon where I take some of my sketches/digital stamps and turn them into colored art, along with many other crazy crafty ideas I want to try.
So one thing this year is to do MORE sketching. I created this cute little duck holding an umbrella and I thought I would share! Who knows this little guy may just get turned into digi stamp! I just love how sketches look…I am thinking I need to do something with them, what do you think?
I started off today with a sketch session! I came up with this cute Panda holding bamboo and thought he may be cute as a digital stamp and had to share. I love being able to add some color and be messy with my sketches when I sketch in adobe ideas. I played with the eyes a little bit, I think it would be cute if I added a little ladybug on top of the panda's head like he is looking at it. Below I just colored the entire eye black and now the panda is looking straight!
