Everyday I usually am at my computer, checking emails, posting on Facebook and of course sketching and drawing. I had a craft station set up in another room but I never seemed to be able to make enough time to craft in there. So I thought why not make my work station also my craft station! This way I will see all my crafty things and get inspired to create!.
I am excited to release brand new digital stamps with a new challenge on the 2 Cute Ink Challenge Blog! The Challenge theme is "At the Beach" and all of the above crabs go well with the beach theme! I have to say my favorite crab is the Biker crab! I am starting to do little collections of images for some of my digital stamps hoping I can start coloring them in and creating an art license portfolio. So go check out the Design Teams wonderful creations using all the digital stamp crabs above! Don't forget you can purchase all these designs in the 2 Cute Ink Etsy Shop!
I am very excited to try something new here at 2 Cute Ink! As many of you know I just love, love, love to sketch. So I decided to start turning some of my sketches into digital stamps! I love the feel of sketches because they can me very tight or loose! These are now available in the 2 Cute Ink Digital Stamp Etsy Shop!
So today when I checked the Holiday Insights page I found out it was Go Fishing Day. So I thought of two ideas one was a boy fishing and then I thought of a cat fishing! I really thought it would be cute to see a cat fishing in a boat so this is what I came up with! I already played around with turning this sketch into a Digi Stamp Sketch.
So as some of you may know I have posted these tote bag ideas yesterday on Facebook. I was just playing around with some ideas. It all started when I had the idea to try and turn one of my sketches into a digital stamp. So I brought my Bunny Carrot image below into Photoshop and tweaked the colors and contrast. I decided I liked the sketch so much to try and put in on a tote bag. I used a grey sketch that actually turned darker once placed on the tote bag. I did a couple variations and added a light wash of color and even tried some solid coloring. I would love your feed back! Let me know which you like or maybe you like a couple? Or maybe you think it would look better another way. Just leave a comment below!
So I had this crazy idea yesterday and thought can I turn my sketches into digital stamps? So I turned my initial sketch layer off in adobe ideas and then brought my colored sketch into Photoshop. I played around with contrast, deleted a few things and came up with this. I was thinking of trying to make it really black like how my regular digital stamps are but It just looked really messy being so dark. I have a few people that are testing the sketch out and hoping to get some feedback. I would love to do a Digi Stamp Sketch Line! :)
So I need to get back to sketching and get my mind in create mode! So today I looked on the Holiday Insights page and saw that today was "Eat Your Veggies Day". So I immediately thought of a cute rabbit holding big carrot with a big bite taken out of it. I also thought it would be fun to start showing my sketches as a screen capture from the adobe ideas app! I think it would be fun to create a little collection of garden rabbits? I am trying to start thinking how I can turn my art into collections for art licensing. Maybe this little rabbit will become my first portfolio piece?
Today as I updated the challenge blog, added photos to Etsy, pinned cards on Pinterest and Instagram I realized that I have come a long way! If you have been with 2 Cute Ink since it was 2 Cute Rubber Stamps you know I have had some ups and downs and even closing my shop a handful of times. But I never could really stop drawing and stop creating digitals stamps. I love being able to share my art as digital stamps and seeing how people create their own works of art.
I may not have the most sales, or the best images but I have fun with what I am doing and I am starting to see my sales grow. My most exciting moment was seeing a 2 Cute Ink card in Cardmaker magazine, I think that was the turning point, it made me feel real! I am glad I returned to etsy this year as I think that had a major roll along with setting up a challenge blog with a long time 2 cute ink fan and friend Sandy. Just like they always say it takes time and hard work. 2 Cute Ink has also opened other doors for me with embroidery and I am now thinking about making this more of an art blog and seeing what else I can do with my art. |
Welcometo 2 Cute Ink! Where I share my digi's, doodles, crafts and more!
I hope to inspire you with my arts and crafts! Heidi Digital StampsCategories
